What is sustainable development?

sus-devThere are over 300 definitions of the term. Most used, is this one from the World Commission on Environment and Development Report 1987 – also known as the Brundtland Commission.

‘Development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.’
